Landscapes

Did a couple of landscape paintings. I've never really been very good at them. I have a hard time creating the illusion of depth that's so essential to a successful landscape. I guess that means I need to keep painting them until I can figure it out.

...Ugh

Uh... yeah. Didn't like the way the rest came out. Didn't really like this one, either, but it was the best of the bad I guess.

WIP

Here's a crappy photo of a painting I'm working on and a quick Photoshop sketch I did the other day. I need to work on the lighting in the painting, and the hands are kind of iffy, too. But it's a start, I guess. Still haven't done the character renders, but since I'm working on them now, I'll post them for sure next week.

Sketches

So it's been awhile, but here I am again. And this time, I'm gonna make it stick (maybe). Anyway, here are a few character sketches, and I'll try to post some full renderings sometime next week. Hope you like.

Sand Surfing...

Ok, I know surfing on sand probably woudn't work too well. Even if you attached a wind sail. I mean, you might make it down a single sand dune, but there's no way you're getting up the other side. Then there's the added pleasure of grinding your face in the sand when you wipe out. I'm sure someone's tried it, though. Maybe there's video on youtube...

Poof!

The subject was poof! So there you are. Poofy hair.

For anyone who likes comics, animation, and/or illustration, you may want to check out Sidebar Nation. The site is hosted by two brothers who share their interest in comics, etc. by posting podcast interviews with some of the top names in the business. We're talking about Skottie Young, James Jean, Jon Foster, Drew Struzan, and so many more it's almost mind-numbing. I've been stuck on that site for days.

Enjoy.

Back Again

Ok, so I've been gone awhile. Never was good with the whole "post regularly" thing. But alright, I guess I can make an attempt at it. Starting today, I'm going to do a weekly illustration based on whatever topic Illustration Friday has up. Don't get your hopes up; it may only be a loose sketch, but it'll be something. This week's topic was "canned".

Next week it is then...
